Filling Treatments

Filling Treatments

Dental caries, tooth abrasions, fractures, deformities and discolorations are very common problems and can be solved with dental filling treatments. To complete the missing structure, we must fill it in. It is important to maintain the integrity of the teeth in terms of aesthetics and function. After filling procedure is finished, we should pay attention to our dental hygiene (brushing). We should note that fresh, white-colored dental fillings will be colored much more easily.

Types Of Treatment With Fillings

Dental Inlay Onlay Treatment: It is the treatment of teeth that have lost a lot of substance. Inlay and onlay fillings are made of reinforced composite or ceramic. An inlay filling is a filling treatment that is applied when there is solid tooth tissue around the filling that will be prepared, whereas an onlay filling is used when one or more walls of the tooth are missing.

Composite (Aesthetic) Filling Treatment: It is a tooth-colored filling that can be applied on all teeth and is usually preferred in cases where aesthetics is important for patients. Light-curing composite materials are preferred today both in terms of aesthetics and function.

Dental Laminate Treatment: It is an aesthetic application made with white filling materials that corrects the appearance of the anterior part of the tooth minimally affecting the tooth tissue.

How Long Does Dental Filling Treatment Take?

It depends on the location and size of the filling, material, number of fillings if more than one filling operation is to be performed in the mouth and patient's compliance with the treatment.

Is Pain Felt After Dental Filling Treatment?

Pain in the form of tingling, which occurs in the gums and teeth after the filling procedure is performed, is considered normal for a while. It is also possible that sensitivity may occur with hot and cold factors for a while. A dentist should be consulted in cases where pain worsens and progresses, starts spontaneously without a trigger such as heat or cold and turn into pain.
